The Actiheart is the new gold standard for measuring activity and energy expenditure. It uses both heart rate and activity data to accurately calculate Activity Energy Expenditure and has been validated against doubly labelled water
The small waterproof Actiheart is worn on the chest. It consists of two electrodes connected by a short lead which simply clip onto two standard ECG paes. The Actiheart is ideal for the use in the field of sports and exercise science, stress, obesity and other epidemiological applications.
The Actiheart can be setup in a variety of configurations. It measures the following parameters
- Heart Rate
- Heart Rate variation
- Activity
- Energy Expenditure (METS and AEE)
The Actiheart system includes
The raw heart rate and activity data is held in a database and can be edited with full traceability without comprimising the integrity of the original data. Data can can also be exported for manipulation in third party programs.
